Labrador City man in hospital after bloody assault
A Labrador City man, 34, is in the hospital recovering from an assault in an apartment building parking lot late Thursday night.
Police and an ambulance were called to Cavendish Crescent following an altercation.
His injuries are not considered life threatening, but many people who witnessed the aftermath were shaken up by what they saw.
Keith Fitzpatrick is a resident of the apartment building where the incident occurred. He said that what he saw this morning when he left his apartment left him shocked.
"All you could see is blood everywhere — all over the stairs, all over the walls, hand railings," Fitzpatrick said. "No matter where you looked, just blood. I couldn't believe it."
He said that he was glad that his two young children weren't there to witness the scene, but he still has concerns.
"When you got that much blood when you wake up in the morning to see, and you got two small kids, I'm worried about having them there," he said.
No arrest has been made in connection to the incident.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, but there is no threat to public safety. They are requesting that anyone with information contact their Labrador City office or Crime Stoppers.
