High temperature records could fall

It could be the warmest March 16 ever for some Sask. communities

Spring is a week away, but people were breaking out t-shirts and patio furniture Friday amid some record-breaking warm temperatures.

Temperatures were expected to hit the 20s C. in some areas, capping what has been one of the mildest winters ever.

In Regina, the temperature was expected to hit 18, while in Saskatoon, the mercury could rise to 14.

The hot spot in the province is expected to be Estevan, where the temperature will rise to 23.

"Those are summer temperatures to be sure," meteorologist Wayne Miskolczi said.
