Murder charge laid in killing of Yorkton man

Yorkton RCMP have arrested and charged a 20-year-old man with murder in connection with the killing of a gas station attendant.

Jimmy Ray Wiebe, 50, was found dead at a Shell station early Monday morning.

RCMP said they got many tips from the public since then. They also released images of a masked suspect, wearing dark clothing, who was recorded by surveillance cameras.

The photos showed a person entering the Shell station at 140 Smith St. in the centre of the city.

Police haven't said anything about the apparent cause of death, other than that it was a homicide.

Kyle Furness of Yorkton has been charged with first-degree murder and ordered held in custody at least until a court appearance Monday morning.
