Saskatoon police probe west end home invasion

Saskatoon police have arrested two people after a home invasion in the city's west end early Sunday morning.

Several officers along with the Street Gang Unit responded to the 200 block of Avenue O South at about 12:30 a.m. after they received a call about several people entering a home and assaulting someone inside.

Police were also told at least one of the suspects had a firearm. By the time officers arrived the suspects had already fled on foot.

A gun was found nearby, which police believe was left behind by one of the suspects.

The Forensic Identification unit was called in and gathered more evidence from the scene. Police have identified several persons of interest.

Two men have been arrested on unrelated charges, but police said they anticipate additional charges related to the home invasion will be laid.
