Flooding hits Mountain

Several areas of the Mountain are dealing with flooding this morning as unseasonally warm temperatures brought heavy rains to Hamilton.

The intersection at Mohawk Road and Upper Ottawa St. was flooded this morning due to two blocked catch basins. The city’s public works department was called to the area to ensure the drains were unblocked.

Other areas of Hamilton, including Rosedale, were also dealing with flooding.

Flooding is a constant problem in some areas of the city. Last year, city councillors twice added more funding to the the (3P) Protective Plumbing Program, which gives up to $2,000 to homeowners to install sewage backflow valves or sump pumps.
