DURHAM -- A new program coming to Durham is designed to help children overcome struggles and move on.
Bounce Back and Thrive is a new program for parents and guardians with children under eight years of age. Parents and guardians will learn skills to: help them and their children bounce back from everyday stresses and hard times; relieve stress and calmly solve problems and conflicts; help their children handle disappointment, anger and frustration; and help their children feel good about themselves, confident and hopeful about the future.
Broken into two parts, the first session will run Wednesdays from Jan. 30 to March 6 from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. The second session will run from April 3 to April 24, also on Wednesdays at the same time.
The sessions will take place at the Parent and Family Literacy Best Start HUB at Clara Hughes Public School (formerly Dr. F. J. Donevan Collegiate) at 250 Harmony Rd. S.
Parents must register by calling the Family and Community Action Program at 905-723-9922, ext. 137 or 905-686-6466.
