I am an avid hiker and cross-country skier. Most of my hiking and skiing takes place at Long Sault Conservation area.
Long Sault is approximately 20 kilometres northeast of Oshawa, just east of Regional Road 57 and is a great place to get back to nature.
Because Long Sault sits on the Oak Ridges moraine, the weather conditions between Oshawa and Long Sault can vary quite a bit. For this reason, I began tweeting the weather conditions after each visit (#longsault trail conditions). My intention is that Long Sault users can read the tweets to plan their visit and use the same hash tag to report trail conditions for others to read. It would be great to get the word out and get more like-minded people on board.
