Richmond Hill siblings impress at Florida junior golf event.
Richmond Hill sibling golfers, Emily and Andre Zhu, finished first and second in their divisions at a Canadian Junior Golf competition in Florida on the weekend.
Several Richmond Hill youths made their presence felt on the fairways after posting impressive results at the Canadian Junior Golf Association’s World Junior Challenge Linkster Tour competition at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club’s North course in Palm Harbor, Fla. Saturday.
Emily Zhu captured the Girls Nine and Under division after finishing at five-over par through 18 holes with a 77 (35-42).
Zhu finished 19 strokes ahead of her nearest rival Lauren Nguyen of Katy, Texas, who finished 24-over par.
In other divisions, Kavith Ranchagoda finished third in the Boys 9-10 grouping after going 18-over par through the two-round competition to finish at 160 (80-80).
Jeffrey Fang followed in fourth place after going 19-over par through 36 holes to finish at 161 (80-81).
Aaron Zhang of Lake Mary, Fla. won the division title after going four-over par at 146 (72-74).
In the Boys 8 and Under division, Andre Zhu, brother of Emily, finished second after going four-over par through 18 holes with a 76 (35-41).
Troy Tsai followed in a two-way tie for third place with Ty Kaufman of Naples, Fla. after carding a 17-over par 89.
Justin Sui of Lake Orion, Mich. finished first after going four-under par with a 68 (33-35).
