Police are investigating after a 59-year-old man was struck and killed at the entrance to the QEW at Dunkirk Road in St. Catharines. Emergency responders were called to the area around 8:15 p.m. The initial investigation revealed the man was struck by a Pontiac Grand Am being driven eastbound by a 35-year-old St. Catharine man. As the vehicle tried entering the QEW, it struck the pedestrian.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not injured.
Collision investigators ask that any witnesses call 905-688-4111, ext. 5500.
