Before 2006, a grolar, or pizzly, was only bred in zoos. But on April 16, 2006 U.S. hunter Jim Martell shot dead the first polar bear-grizzly bear hybrid ever found in the wild. Martell is pictured with his one-of-a-kind prize in his game room at his Idaho home, in 2007.
