The NDP made history again in Manitoba where Greg Selinger's party won a fourth straight majority. "Today, Manitobans went to the ballot box and voted for optimism," Selinger said in his victory speech. He was widely predicted to win his own seat in St. Boniface, which he has represented since 1999.

The convincing showing from the NDP prompted Hugh McFadyen to step down as leader of the Progressive Conservative Party.
