After years as a couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are engaged.
Pitt's manager confirmed the news to The Associated Press in an email Friday.
Cynthia Pett-Dante said that there isn't a wedding date "at this time."
She also said that the engagement "is a promise for the future."
Together since 2005, Pitt and Jolie have three adopted children and three biological children. Pett-Dante said that "their kids are very happy."
Jolie was seen wearing an engagement ring while visiting the Los Angeles County Museum of Art earlier this week.
On Friday, a Beverly Hills jeweller confirmed to industry paper The Hollywood Reporter he had designed an engagement ring for Jolie, having worked in collaboration with Pitt over the past year.
The couple had famously vowed not to wed until marriage was made legal for all. When asked about marriage plans again after the overturning of the gay-marriage ban Proposition 8 in California, Jolie coyly replied: "Maybe."
