Testimony at the Quebec corruption commission in recent weeks has brought staggering new revelations about the penetration of organized crime into Quebec’s largest union.
The star witness at the inquiry was Ken Pereira, a long-time union organizer turned whistleblower who sounded the alarm about how the Mafia and Hells Angels were tied to Quebec union officials and gained access to a multi-billion-dollar Quebec pension fund.
The National’s Terence McKenna has more on Pereira’s fight against corruption.
