A Vancouver chef accused of installing a hidden camera in the bathroom of his upscale restaurant has turned himself in to police.

Const. Brian Montague says Two Chefs and a Table co-owner Allan Bosomworth allegedly used the cameras to record patrons and staff from the waist down during the busy holiday season.

The washroom was the only one in the restaurant and was also used as a change room by staff members.

"He turned himself in to sheriffs at about 10 o'clock yesterday morning. There's no longer a warrant out for his arrest," said Montague.

Bosomworth had been charged with secretly observing or recording nudity in a private place. The alleged offence carries a maximum sentence of five years.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 16. None of the allegations have been proven in court.

The small restaurant, which was located at 305 Alexander St. in Vancouver's Gastown neighbourhood, closed earlier this year, but the company continues to operate two other restaurants — Big Lou's Butcher Shop, also in Vancouver, and Two Chefs in Richmond.
